Seattle can hold its own
I think Seattle could support an NHL team in Seattle. Just three hours up north are the Vancouver Canucks who sell out every game, and have for a few years now. Many may argue with an NBA team, there wouldn't be enough support for an NHL team, but I disagree. Whoever said NBA fans were hockey fans, or vice versa? We have well over 3 million people in the Seattle metropolitan area. Add the fact that we have some of the nations biggest businesses and a lot of diehard hockey fans already here, it would only grow with a team here and would by the years. Portland natives and others from Oregon come up here for Seahawks and Mariners quite often when they play, so what is to say they wouldnt come and see the Seattle ?'s play?

Hockey is very big in Seattle, albeit under the radar.
The Everett Sivler Tips are one of the best amature hockey clubs in the country.
The Greater Seattle Hockey League (GSHL) is the 6th largest adult recreational hockey club in the nation.
The only problem is that years ago, when the NHL expanded - Seattle was offered a chance to make a team but tured it down. I think there are quite a few other cities ahead of us now should the league expand again. The only way this would work now, is if we bought a team and moved them here. For that I think we would need a dedicated ice arena, not a multi-use arena.
